The ozone generators for aquatic environments generates the ozone gas (O3) from ambient air, compressed air and/or oxygen. The ozone, is a colorless gas and predominent smell. Powerfull oxidizing agent used to sterilize water and air. Oxidizes chemical compounds eliminates bad smell, also eliminates micro organisms such as bacterias, virus, protozoa, mites and others. Ozone, is the second most powerfull oxidizing agent in the whole world.
The ozone is produced from wavelengths of ultraviolet light below 240 nm. The ozone production reaches its highest production at ultraviolet wavelengths of 185 nm. The use of UV lamps with an ozone wavelength of 185 nm is used in ozone generators.
Ozone generators with UV light are only used in low generation (g/h) and low concentration (%) systems since their efficiency is limited by the UV light itself, the same light that "generates" ozone and "breaks" it, ozone as well, resulting in a low concentration of useful ozone.
HOW IT WORKS?
The concentrated oxygen passes through the equipment where there is a constant electrical discharge that is generated through a transformer responsible for transforming the oxygen molecule (O₂) into an ozone molecule (O₃) by adding an atom. Then, this gas (ozone) is sucked in by a venturi valve and mixed with the water to be treated.
Water properties are not altered/modified with the application of ozone and installation of this system. So you can keep it running constantly.
Its application is totally safe, not causing damage or discomfort to fish exposed to the gas. What differentiates ozone from different disinfecting agents is its mechanism for destroying microorganisms.
Chlorine, for example, acts by diffusion through the cell wall, to then act on the 4 vital elements inside the cell, such as enzymes, proteins, DNA and RNA. Ozone, being more oxidizing, acts directly on the cell wall, causing its rupture, requiring less contact time and making its reactivation impossible. Depending on the type of microorganism, ozone can be up to 3,125 times faster than chlorine in cell inactivation.
Our generators use the Corona discharge electric field process to produce ozone. The equipment is manufactured with a 3.3 Borosilicate cell and a 304 stainless steel cabinet, ensuring excellent product quality and high durability.
The third oxygen atom of ozone (O₃) makes it extremely reactive, this atom readily bonds with other molecules and changes the oxidation state of those molecules, therefore creating oxidation. When contaminants such as odors, microorganisms or organic matter come into contact with ozone, its chemical structure changes state. This process is called oxidation. Residual ozone reverts to oxygen (O₂) after it is used. This makes it an environmentally friendly oxidizer.
Ozone acts in the installed system by oxidizing organic and chemical compounds (such as nitrogenous ones) and helps in the elimination of algae spores and harmful microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses and protozoa.
